This man is in the Radio Hall of Fame. He is a national treasure. He just suffered a minor stroke but plans to be back at work fulltime next week. Total badass. You should Netflix A Prairie Home Companion and try it on for size.

Journey down the Big River - Album Update - Upcoming shows

The theme of the summer for the Widows can be broken down into three pressing questions, as posed to us by slightly buzzed friends, colleagues, family, and those to whom we have made (thus far) fruitless promises.

They are:

1. How did you survive playing a musical?

2. Where is the album?

3. Are you playing any shows in August?

Answers:

1. The combined musical powers of Andrea Blunt and Laura B.

2. The album is currently being Mixed by a friend (and expert of such matters). As he is doing it in his spare time, and keeping in mind the care which needs to be taken in the Printing and Mixing of a record, it could be an interval still. My estimation is completion in one month, with a release shortly thereafter.

3. Two upcoming Widows shows are being prepped, as we prepare to enter Widows part III. With a bit of luck we hope to have a new set full of new songs and new surprises.

-The first show will be at Molly Malone’s on the 9^th of August. We will be playing with our good friends Southern Oracle.

-The Second show will be at the Kibitz room on August 21^st. It is a New Venue. There will be sandwiches.
